If you’ve received an invite to the Taptu beta, you might need some background information about us. Here are a few Q&A’s.

1. Why have you sent this email to me?

At some point in the last few months, you added your email to Taptu’s beta sign up page at www.taptu.com.

2. What is Taptu?

Taptu is a new kind of search engine for mobile phones which allows you to search and find really useful content in as few clicks as possible.

3. Can I search for anything?

Yes you will be able to, but for this release we’ve focussed on Music and “Fact Finding” we’re adding new categories very soon.

4. Why is Taptu different from other search engines?

Taptu uses a new technique called social-assisted search which combines the power of algorithms with humans to deliver the most relevant results from the most reliable sources.

5. Do I need to download anything or a specific handset?

No, Taptu is available on many internet enabled mobile phones using standard mobile browsers. This release is optimized for the top 20 handsets from Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Samsung, Motorola and of course the iPhone.

6. What’s going to be added in future releases?

More sources and content, multi-languages, support for even more handsets and some exciting new sharing features.

7. What sort of feedback is useful?
